I created Whitley Performance in 1993 and opened the private studio with my wife in 2010. This allowed me the opportunity to focus on the specific needs of each individual client and their needs. Whether you are a professional athlete, motivated individual, or a beginner, all needs are addressed with your specific goals in mind. We've been very fortunate to continue to build the business and brand without marketing but, by simply putting in the work and providing real results.
I believe my position with Johnson and Johnson early in my career, helped me gain a greater passion for injury prevention. (We will talk about my original desire for injury prevention a bit later.) As the Health Director for General Motors Corporation based in the Spring Hill TN plant, I was tasked with the design and implementation of a companywide Wellness program. This allowed me to travel for consultations throughout the United States.
In my earlier years in Whitley Performance, I created Ergonomic injury prevention programs for large factories and their employees. These programs are currently being utilized in over 20 factory locations in three countries. When the team is healthy, the company is healthy. Proper movement is essential not only for the employee but for the company as well. This leads to less time away due to injury, lower insurance premiums, better culture and higher output for the organization. We all want higher output, right? It doesn't matter if you are a corporation or a sports team. We all have the same goal.
Along with running Whitley Performance full time, I also serve as the Director of Sports Performance for Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance (TOA). I oversee the development and execution of training for all clients and athletes within the sports performance realm throughout the state of Tennessee. As a direct part of a team of nationally and internationally renowned surgeons, I am responsible for outreach, education, and oversight of all performance training within TOA.
Our partnership with the Tennessee Titans and Titans radio has afforded me the opportunity to reach a larger audience in pursuit of proper "performance" in the listeners everyday lives. I believe with knowledge anyone can live a better, healthier and longer life if they understand how the body should work. This is where my training philosophy encompasses learning to move better by correcting imbalances, becoming stronger, using appropriate methods and improved conditioning to enhance your capacity to live your best life.
With over 28 years of experience in the industry, I have seen great success in training athletes in all sports. My resume to date includes over 55 NCAA athletes and players in the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, MMA and UFC. We are also proud to say of those athletes, Superbowl Champions and World Series Champs, (MVP) have come through the doors of Whitley Performance. Not to mention a NCAA back-to-back National Dance Champion. To me, us, everyone training with Whitley Performance is a champion
Whether you are an athlete or individual of any age wanting to get stronger, lose weight, build a healthy lifestyle, feel better and/or move better, there is a place for you with Whitley Performance at the TOA Sports Performance Center.
Well, that is simple. My support team consists of my wife Amanda and our son Kurt. We couldn't do it without the love of our three dogs, Cash, Yoshi and Charlee and sweet, mean kitty GiGi.
I am so grateful for the family of Whitley's and Wyatts who have stood beside me. They know who they are. My entire Parrish family in northeast Missouri

Without having amazing clients who support this business, Whitley Performance wouldn't exist. When you have such wonderful people come through your doors every day, you can't help but call them family too.
