Knowledge vs. Action

In the past 25 years, working with 1000’s of clients I’ve come to appreciate the struggles that people go through. For some it is as simple as understanding how to make better choices, for others it is a journey of years of undoing negative behaviors and patterns. Either way, we all come to our conclusions in our own way in our own time. I have had some clients who are knowledge seekers while others are action takers. The knowledge seekers gather information and develop strategies. They spend countless hours, weeks, months, and even years analyzing and processing information. They are well informed and empowered yet they are not able to implement those strategies for fear of making the wrong decision. The action takers however don’t necessarily need to spend time gathering information. They take actions and make adjustments along the way. Constantly refining their process, never to be derailed by setbacks. These clients not only see better results, they tend to be more motivated and happier.

I recently was offered an opportunity to work with a company that has developed two patented products which address one of the greatest epidemics facing the world today. By addressing the root causes of acute and chronic inflammation as a result of over consumption of sugar, Emulin-E is revolutionizing the way our bodies can feel and perform. Klamax on the other hand, stimulates our bodies natural healing abilities by removing and replacing damaged cells and promoting the growth of new healthy cells.

So I ask, which person are you? A knowledge seeker, or an action taker? Reply with your type in the box below.

Information Overload

Thanks to developers, programmers, creators, and genius minds, we now have access to information of every type at the click of a button. Just think of a topic and you can instantly find as much information as you can take about that subject.

We should then be the most well adjusted, adapted, well educated beings ever. With access to all of this information, why is it that we still haven’t cracked the code on being healthy? Or have we?

For a moment consider this, what if we have all the secrets, all the solutions, all the answers? After all, we have access to information at lightening speed in our hands at every waking moment.

So why is it that the epidemic of obesity continues to plague our populations? I have an idea, we have failed to act.

You see its not lack of information, it’s lack of action. We gain knowledge in seconds, and can develop a plan. So then what? Now comes the action. Accountability is important, environment is important, and believe it or not, we need each other. Studies show that isolation contributes to a greater mortality than other diseases because people lose touch. When it comes to achieving goals, the results are no different. We need each other to be successful in the long run. Why do you think weight loss programs that involve groups or regular check ins are so successful. It’s because they create a tribal feel. Where every person matters. Their success are celebrated, and their setbacks are temporary and not fatal.

I encourage you start today, to reach out and get plugged in. Whatever your goal, be it health improvement, weight loss, improved performance, there are others like you needing to be encouraged, needing to be held accountable, needing to be pushed. I’m currently creating groups for the following:

Health Improvement

Weight loss (fat loss)

Performance (Strength, Speed, Endurance)

Journey to Optimal Health and Fitness

I’ve worked in the field of Health and Fitness for the past 25 years. From personal training my first client after graduating high school and sitting for my first ACE certification, to corporate health and wellness, to sports performance, I’ve experienced a lot over the past 25 years. I’ve been an amateur bodybuilder, a nationally ranked strongman, competed in mixed martial arts, and competed in powerlifting. I’ve experienced almost every diet known, from juice cleanses to fasting to keto to Macro, I’ve tried most. What I’ve found over these years is that the human body is a fantastic marvel that can adapt to almost any change. After years of sharing knowledge and continued learning, I’ve seen my own personal highs and lows. I now have acknowledged my continued quest as a journey to optimal health and fitness. Through learning about my pitfalls and personal issues, I’ve realized that the power lies within. Addressing your issues, and seeking support where necessary, anything is possible. I have also begun a new regime based off of custom nutrient testing which has lead me to a custom matrix of vitamins and minerals designed to uniquely and specifically provide me with the key support to help me reach my optimal levels of health.

Are you training to be a professional athlete? Are you competing in some physical event? Do you train for aesthetics or strength? Do you train for your health?

Most of my adult clients train for life. They have committed to a lifestyle of health and happiness. This may involve a regular exercise routine, better eating strategies, improving their sleep quality, and seeking ways to incorporate fun into daily life.

Try this daily challenge for 7 days. At the end of 7 days let me know how you feel.

Follow the Fit For Life routine listed below 2-3 times per day before you eat.

Set a timer for 5 minutes.                                                                                                                              Complete as many rounds as possible with good technique. Modify your positions to match your level and adjust as needed.                                                                                                                                                            Start slowly and move more quickly only when you have good control.

10x squats

10x push ups

10x ab brace

10x overhead reach and breathe

It’s that simple. And what may you ask are the benefits? Better digestion, better mood, increased calorie burn, increased oxygen uptake, improved strength are just a few of the benefits you gain from this simple routine.

Work In Progress

hammer-anvil

Tonight I have spent time editing and revising content for this website. It is definitely not a strength of mine, but I’m working through it. It has come to my attention in the recent months that I do my best when I am learning and growing. For me that means that it is time to be placed in the fire and forged. On the anvil I am hammered, bent, shaped, and beaten. Through the fire I am made, folded and strengthened. Quenched then sharpened to a razor edge. There are times when it is I who wield the hammer, but for now it is life that handles it. Decide today where you are. Are you being forged and made stronger or are you creating and building those around you. Either way, know that the direction of movement must always be forward. Our eyes are set in the direction of our purpose and that is not behind us.
